Guitarist/composer Gordon Quinton was born in Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland and Labrador and now lives in St. John's. A unique, self-taught guitar stylist, he specializes in original compositions and arrangements of traditional and contemporary folk music. As a member of the popular group, Ward Six, which released an album in the early 1970s, Gordon has since produced eight instrumental guitar recordings, Guitar Songs, Woodnight Moon, Wildwood Flower, Sea-Winds: Original Guitar Music from Newfoundland, North Atlantic Dance, Molly Bawn: A Guitar Memoir, From a Christmas Guitar
, and the newly released The Yellow Sky
. Independently distributed on his Woodnight Records label, Gordon's recordings have crossed international borders into countries such as Japan, Norway and Australia. He has also contributed musically on several recordings by local artists including John White, Phyllis Morrissey, Shirley Montague, and John Lacey.
